LIFTING AND TRANSHIPMENT OF 4 REACTORS AT THE PORT OF CHIOGGIA
Fagioli is performing the transport, lifting and transfer of four reactors at the port of Chioggia destined to Kuwait.

The weight of each reactor is approx. 950 ton. In order to lift the reactors from the river barge Ticino and consequent positioning of the huge items onto the marine pontoon, Fagioli prepared a tailor made lifting structure. This gantry lifting system consisted of 4 lifting towers, strand jacks, and two enormous girders successfully used for the lifting of modules in Spain up to 4800 tons.

Each operation was executed in different steps: arrival of river barge Ticino; lifting of the reactor by gantry crane system; river barge to leave the operational area; ocean barge Mak to be positioned and to be loaded with the reactor.
